Where all things beautiful collide

In the first of a continued series, The Man of Style interviews James Andrew.  Interior Designer and prolific blogger of What is James Wearing, James has a flawless eye for style in both the worlds of interiors and fashion.  Always looking dapper, James is often seen at important events wearing the likes of Tom Ford and Gucci (both favorites).  Let’s get to know James a little better, shall we?

JA: Albert Hadley
James once worked for the prestigious design firm Parish-Hadley.  Hadley stands (above) in front of a wall covered in a fabric of his design.  Hadley continues to inspire James Andrew and many more, including myself.

MOS: What is your ultimate dream project?  A particular building or space, or something in fashion?

JA: I would love to design a hotel and a line of clothing.

MOS: What is the key to a successful design?

JA: Well thought out and planned, design that is sympathetic to the architecture, that creates the perfect back drop for my clients to enjoy the good life, originality, the best quality workmanship and a clean purposeful point of view all working together to create something elegant, classic and exciting.

MOS: What do you believe to be the greatest addition to design, or who has been the greatest contributor?

JA: Well, besides myself and my rantings on WIJW, there are endless books, magazines and more recently blogs- like An Aethetes Lament and so many others.
