Where all things beautiful collide

If you’ve read my blog over the past year, you know how much I adore Lanvin!  Season after season Alber Elbaz takes fashion to another dimension with one exquisite look after another walking down the runway.  This spring was full of the classic Elbaz/Lanvin touches.  Draping, one-shoulder, embellishment, great jewelry and great shoes!  The color palette had wonderful contrasts between rich neutrals, exciting color, and essential black.  Here with are some of my favorite looks.

Lanvin

I see this color extending from spring to fall 2011.  Such a beautiful shade executed in a big spring trend, sheer.  The one-shoulder is often seen on the Lanvin runway, but never seems to be tired.

Karlie Kloss looks like a modern ethereal goddess in this pretty red, I believe people are calling it honeysuckle?  Whatever the name, this dress makes more of a red lover out of me (not usually my fave).

Purple passion can be found in this body-conscious short dress.  Elbaz is a master with cut and fabric and can make pretty and sexy clothes.

designer details

No detail was overlooked, or ever is when Alber Elbaz is creating a new collection for Lanvin.  Saddle leather belts and harnesses were seen in many looks, modern asymmetrical shoulders and back details, and don’t forget the jewelry.  Lanvin’s jewelry is more amazing than the most precious jewels the world has seen.  Collect it if you can!

Lanvin

I can’t remember a recent collection that hasn’t included a version of this nude colored sheer dress.  It always seems to be a favorite of mine too.

Julianne Moore wore a version of this dress and was ripped apart by the fashion media.  She’s always a risk taker, and I applaud her for that.  Did you see her at the Golden Globes wearing a coral Lanvin gown with Bulgari jewels?  I thought she looked stunning!

Lily Donaldson

Lily Donaldson stepped right off the runway and into the pages of the January issue of Harper’s Bazaar wearing the “two dresses in one look” from above.  Photographed by Terry Richardson and styled with softer hair and bold red lips, the model looks radiant.  I am obsessed with the faux tortoise wedges and pearl cuff!

The leather harness and bow brooch were unexpected details.

the shoe

Seriously ladies, this is when I get jealous of your footwear options!!  I’m not a fan of the crazy shoes seen at other fashion houses, but Elbaz always seems to create interesting shoes that are never coo coo.

Lanvin

This has to be my favorite look from the show.  No wonder Blake Lively wore it instantly after the show last fall, styled exactly like it was shown.  The bee brooch is amazing, with a faux baroque pearl as the body.

I don’t know if you can actually swim in these suits, but it may be worth trying with how chic you would look in them!

More superb shoes for spring!!

neutral looks

Neutral hues were all over the spring runways, and Lanvin was no exception.  Rich earthy tones were embellished and cut in modern silhouettes.

Lanvin

A gladiator goddess…an often found Lanvin woman.  Soft and strong.

The spring collection was a well-traveled one.  A group of rare beauties congregate in some of the more ethnic looks of the show.  A perfect end to a perfect show!
